Rising SDSU edge talent with NFL frame and upside
Robby Lavata'i is a 2026 freshman defender at San Diego State listed at 6-5, 250 pounds, with ESPN and SDSU both identifying him as an active linebacker/EDGE prospect. In the 2026 preseason, his appeal is the classic Aztec blueprint: length, size, and enough versatility to line up on the edge and attack downhill. He was rated a top-90 EDGE recruit nationally by 247Sports and top-12 in Washington, which signals real developmental upside. The best fit is a team that wants a long, physical, high-ceiling front-seven piece rather than an instant polished star.
