Gage Mestas was a late-season spark plug for San Diego
In the 2026 season, Gage Mestas emerged as a versatile, clutch bat for the San Diego Toreros, finishing WCC play with a .446 average, 1.228 OPS, and 39 RBI while delivering multiple big multi-hit, multi-RBI games. He also flashed polish and competitiveness after transferring in, adding speed, gap power, and situational hitting that plays up in pressure spots. The biggest fit question for a team is role: he looks like a high-IQ, high-contact utility piece who can help immediately if you want a tough out with sneaky impact.
