Patrick Walega gives Lafayette a live-armed righty with starter experience and some volatility
In the 2026 season, Patrick Walega is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed pitcher for Lafayette who has already handled rotation and bullpen work, showing the kind of toughness coaches like when innings get messy. His calling card is strike-throwing ability and competitive mound presence, but his statistical profile has been uneven across recent seasons, so the fit looks better for a staff willing to develop him than one needing instant shutdown results. He’s the sort of arm that can flash useful upside if command sharpens and he settles into a consistent role.
