WKU’s undersized, high-motor guard with hometown toughness
Jake Ohmer is best remembered as a gritty, high-effort guard who brought shooting touch and composure to Western Kentucky, especially in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. In the 2018-19 season, he averaged 1.6 points, 10.9 minutes, and hit 13 threes, while his career line at WKU showed a respectable 79.2% free-throw mark and a reputation for staying ready when called. He’s the kind of player coaches like for toughness, poise, and local pride—more glue than glamour, but the sort of guard who can steady a roster and keep the energy level annoyingly high for opponents.
