Josh Toole brings elite defensive upside behind the plate for Coastal Carolina
Josh Toole is a highly regarded catching prospect whose calling card is **catch-and-throw defense**: recruiting reports describe advanced receiving, a strong arm, and pop times consistently around the sub-2.0 range, while also noting he runs well for a catcher and has added physicality at about 6'1", 193–194 lbs.[1][7][9] National outlets and recruiting profiles have placed him among the top catchers in his class, and Coastal Carolina lists him as a freshman who redshirted in 2026 without appearing in a game.[2][4][8] If you need a catcher who can handle the game, control the run game, and has room to grow offensively, he’s worth a serious look.[1][7][8]
