Jayton Greer is giving San Diego a sneaky-impact bat with clutch upside
In the 2026 season, San Diego catcher/INF Jayton Greer hit .280 with a .836 OPS, 26 hits, 7 doubles, 2 home runs and 21 RBI, and he earned WCC Player and Freshman of the Week after a nine-RBI weekend burst. He stands out for his contact quality, ability to move the baseball, and a knack for showing up in big moments—plus he’s handled multiple roles, including catcher, DH and infield, which boosts his fit for a lineup that values flexibility and toughness.
