Freshman safety with legit ball-hawk upside at Arkansas State
Paul Risper enters the 2026 season as a freshman safety for Arkansas State at 6-foot-1, 173 pounds, with enough length and range to project as a versatile defensive back. The early profile suggests a player the Red Wolves like for his athleticism and defensive-back flexibility, with roster listings and recruiting coverage placing him at safety/DB and noting a strong all-around high school résumé. He’s still a projection piece rather than a proven college stat-sheet stuffer, but his frame, positional adaptability, and developmental upside make him an intriguing fit if your team wants a hungry, multi-role defensive back with room to grow.
