Walkup entered the 2024-25 season after earning Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region 24 Player of the Year honors at Olney Central, where he averaged 18.5 points per game and knocked down 65 threes in the 2023-24 season. At Southeast Missouri State in the 2024-25 season, he was a spark-plug guard off the bench, posting 3.3 points per game on 34.9% shooting overall and 30.9% from three, with a season-high 23 points against Crowley’s Ridge.
