CJ Hurley is giving Niagara a left-handed bullpen arm with real high-school pedigree
In the 2025 season, Niagara’s CJ Hurley emerged as a useful left-handed reliever, appearing in 12 games and striking out 17 batters in 24.2 innings, then returned in 2026 as a sophomore after a strong Amherst resume that included a 1.50 ERA over 180 high-school innings and multiple Western New York honors[4][6]. The fit here is easy to see: he’s a 6-foot-2, 185-pound LHP with strike-throwing experience, competitive feel, and enough polish to handle inherited-runner jams, which makes him appealing if a staff wants a calm, developmental southpaw who can grow into more leverage[4][10].
