Nick Chow is flashing freshman upside with strikeout bite and a starter’s frame
In the 2026 season, Santa Clara freshman right-hander Nick Chow has already shown the kind of poise that makes coaches perk up: he struck out the side in his debut and later held UNLV scoreless over key middle innings, finishing that outing with 3 strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. He’s a 6-5, 215-pound arm with a fastball that can reach 92 and a big 12-6 curveball, and Santa Clara’s staff has praised his work ethic and “high-level character,” suggesting a pitcher who could fit a rotation-minded program very well.
