Sefa Sackey brings rare upside to Wake Forest’s front
Sefa Sackey is a long, high-upside freshman defensive lineman for Wake Forest with a basketball-built frame, listed at 6-5, 215, and he arrives with real recruiting buzz as a four-star, top-50 edge prospect in ESPN’s 2026 class rankings.[1][2] In his first varsity football season in 2025, he posted 68 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and a forced fumble in just nine games, which points to a disruptive motor and fast developmental curve.[2][3] The big selling point here is projection: he is still new to football, yet already showed production, length, and coachable upside, making him a strong fit for a program that can develop raw athleticism into a nasty edge presence.[3]
