Kira Griffin entered Sacramento State as a Sacramento-area product with a polished, high-contact bat and a track record of production: at John F. Kennedy HS she hit .474 with 93 runs, 37 steals, 39 doubles, seven homers and 85 RBIs in 75 career games, while the Hornets’ staff praised her smooth hands at third base and ability to slide to first.
