Alfonzo Houston brought veteran shot-making and pressure-free throw value to NCCU
In the 2013-14 season, Alfonzo Houston was a steady senior guard for North Carolina Central, averaging 9.5 points on 43.3% shooting, plus 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He was at his best as a downhill scorer who could live at the line, scoring 323 points that season and showing real poise in big moments, including a career-high 24 points at IUPUI and 12 in NCCU’s historic win over NC State. The appeal is his toughness, efficiency, and veteran edge—exactly the kind of guard who helps a team stay composed when the game starts getting spicy.
