durable right-hander giving San José State innings, strikeouts, and late-game poise
Cushing has been a reliable senior arm for San José State, appearing in eight games in the 2026 season and striking out nine across 7.0 innings, after logging 12 appearances, six starts, and 19 strikeouts in 33.1 innings in 2025. He’s not a pure velocity headline guy; the appeal is his versatility, strike-throwing ability, and willingness to take the ball in multiple roles, including a strong relief outing in the 2026 shutout at San Francisco. If your staff wants a steady, right-handed competitor who can cover innings and handle pressure, he fits the bill.
