Denny Slay II brings steady guard play and late-game composure
Slay, a 5-11 guard from Woodbridge, Va., was described by High Point as an explosive point guard and showed real poise at the line, including a clutch pair of free throws in a one-point road win during the 2019-20 season. He also delivered efficient scoring for High Point, averaging 5.1 points in 2020-21, and later posted 11.5 points and 3.5 assists per game on 52.9% shooting in 2021-22 after transferring to Academy of Art, suggesting he can create offense without forcing the issue.[1][5][6][7]
