David McCoy’s calling card: defense, rebounds, and point-guard grit
David McCoy is a steady, hustle-heavy guard who gives Mississippi Valley State real backcourt value—he led the Delta Devils in steals in the 2021-22 season and also chipped in across the box score with rebounding and assists, which is a nice little Swiss-army-knife profile for a guard. In the 2021-22 season, he was the team’s steals leader at 1.5 per game and also ranked among the more active rebounders and facilitators, suggesting he plays with pace, toughness, and a utility mindset rather than flashy volume. If your team wants a defense-first guard who competes every possession, McCoy makes sense.
