Preston Watkins is giving Texas A&M-Corpus Christi a reliable, swing-and-miss right arm
In the 2026 season, Preston Watkins has been a key Islanders bullpen weapon and occasional starter, posting a 3.97 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 34.0 innings while also earning a save and a win; early in the season he opened with 7 strikeouts over 4 innings, showing he can miss bats and hold up in high-leverage spots[1][2][3]. At 6'4", 210 lbs with a right-right profile, he looks like a physical power arm who can attack hitters, and reports of him battling injuries in prior seasons add some context: when he’s right, he’s impactful, but durability is part of the evaluation[1][4].
