Nych Smith gives Winthrop a steady, high-usage backcourt engine
In the most recent Winthrop materials available, Nych Smith profiles as a productive, experienced guard who can score, create, and keep the offense organized; he was listed at 17.4 points per game, 3.8 assists, and a .476 field-goal percentage in conference play, with solid free-throw shooting (.767) and a strong assist-to-turnover rate (1.6). He also brings a proven track record as a former leading scorer at Florida Southwestern State (15.3 ppg, 5.8 apg), plus toughness after battling ankle injuries in his Winthrop tenure. If a team wants a poised table-setter who can still get buckets, he’s a very reasonable fit.
