Smooth shot-creator with elite pull-up range and playmaking feel
Russell was a high-usage, creative lead guard at Ohio State, earning **Consensus First-Team All-American** honors in the 2014-15 season and the **Jerry West Award** for top college shooting guard, which signals real star-level production and not just empty box-score padding[6]. His differentiators were his calm pace, handle, shot-making off the dribble, and ability to create for teammates as well as himself[3][6]. For a team, he fit best as a ball-dominant perimeter creator rather than a pure off-ball scorer, with the main question being consistency and efficiency under pressure, not talent.
