Big-bodied senior arm with flashes, but command is the swing skill
In the 2026 season, Luca Staiano brought a power frame to San José State at 6'6", 210 pounds, and showed real upside with a five-hitless-inning outing against Pacific and a 1.2-inning scoreless win at Fresno State. His season stats point to a mixed profile—useful strikeout ability, but inconsistent command and run prevention—so the raw stuff is there, but the polish is still catching up. If your team wants a tall righty with starter traits, competitive edge, and room to grow, he’s interesting; if you need immediate lockdown control, he’s more of a project than a plug-and-play answer.
