Isabella Perez is FIU’s steady two-way anchor behind the plate
In the 2026 season, FIU catcher Isabella Perez remains a high-value defender with proven run-prevention chops, having handled 224 chances with a .996 fielding percentage while continuing to start regularly for the Panthers. Her calling card is impact behind the plate: in 2023 she led Conference USA and ranked 11th nationally with 16 runners caught stealing, and she earned First Team All-CUSA as a freshman. Offensively, she’s been a contact-oriented producer rather than a slugger, but her experience, toughness, and everyday reliability make her the kind of catcher coaches trust.
