Vocal Leader Behind the Plate with Emerging Power Potential
Sacred Heart's catcher Steak Newman brings intangible leadership qualities and a developing offensive skill set to the position. The New York native showcases present bat speed with exit velocities reaching the low-to-mid 90s and demonstrates doubles power potential (324-foot batted ball distance in BP). Newman's vocal presence behind the plate and varsity experience across multiple sports signal maturity and competitiveness. While still building his collegiate resume with modest early production, his combination of defensive positioning, communication skills, and raw power tools make him an intriguing prospect for programs seeking a leader who can grow into offensive production.
