Bergan Needles brings speed, versatility, and sneaky value to UMass Lowell’s outfield
Needles arrives at UMass Lowell as a junior transfer from Wofford with 45 games of Division I experience and a profile built around speed and opportunistic offense: she scored five runs and stole three bases in 2025 after a 2024 season that included a double, four RBI, and another steal. Her value is less about loud power and more about relentless baserunning, usable outfield depth, and the kind of contact-and-pressure game that can change innings. She also earned a Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll nod, which suggests a dependable, coach-friendly fit.
