Ballhawk safety with All-MAC pop and real playmaking juice
In the 2025 season, Braden Awls emerged as a disruptive, instinctive safety for Toledo, leading the MAC with 5 interceptions while adding 52 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 9 passes defended. The 6-foot, 196-pound junior has the kind of range and ball skills coaches crave, plus the toughness to show up in the run game and in tight coverage. His 2024 season also showed the blueprint—72 tackles and 4 picks—so the production looks repeatable, not fluky. If you want a safety who can take the ball away and play with edge, he’s your guy.
