compact right-hander giving Illinois State a steady 2026 bullpen look
In the 2026 season, Illinois State senior right-hander Shuto Okumura has posted a 3.60 ERA with a 1-0 record and 12 strikeouts, signaling a reliable arm rather than a pure power-flash profile. At 5-foot-9, he’s not going to win the eyeball test with size, but that can make him easy to overlook — and that’s often where value hides. The available data suggests a poised, strike-throwing reliever who can help stabilize innings and give a staff competitive consistency.
