Cole Nelson’s breakout bat is giving UNCW a real middle-of-the-order threat
In the 2025 season, Cole Nelson emerged as a legit impact bat for UNC Wilmington, starting 33 of 39 games and finishing second on the team with 11 home runs while hitting .303 in conference play with eight homers and 21 RBIs. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound right-handed hitter brings real power, especially against league pitching, plus the versatility to move between DH and outfield. He’s already shown he can flip a game with one swing, which is exactly the kind of juice a lineup can’t fake.
