Gianna Richy brings corner-infield size, right/left versatility, and contact-pop upside to UIC
Richy’s profile is built around dependable infield utility and sneaky offensive upside: UIC lists the 5'11" infielder as a right/left hitter who has seen action in 2023-2024, including 29 appearances and 15 starts as a freshman before a more limited but productive pinch-hitting role as a sophomore. Her 2023 line (.120 average in 50 at-bats) shows she was still finding her footing, but the roster notes a double, pinch-hit RBI chances, and consistent game action suggest a player valued for flexibility and depth rather than flash. She looks like a fit for teams needing size, versatility, and a competitive bench bat with room to grow.[1][3]
