Kent State’s versatile, high-IQ two-sport spark plug
Kelsey Salopek brings a rare mix of athleticism, competitiveness, and game feel to Kent State softball, arriving as a senior outfielder after a standout Kent State soccer career that included All-MAC and all-region recognition. Her value is more than box-score stuff: she’s a proven winner, a strong on-ball competitor, and the kind of player coaches trust in pressure spots. She’s not a volume-stat headline yet in softball, but as a versatile, fast, experienced athlete with a history of rising quickly in a new role, she looks like a smart, energetic fit for a team that values toughness and adaptability.
