Mercer’s Julian Fox is a high-IQ, downhill linebacker with special-teams grit
In the 2025 season, Julian Fox emerged as a dependable Mercer linebacker after earning SoCon Defensive Player of the Week honors with 8 tackles and an interception against The Citadel, and he also showed up earlier as a steady tackler and kick-coverage contributor. Mercer’s staff has praised his instincts, toughness, and football IQ, which makes him more than a box-score guy: he plays with a finishing edge and can help on defense and special teams. If you want a physical, disciplined LB who does the dirty work and keeps getting better, he’s a strong fit.
