BJ Simmons is a steady UTRGV floor general with shot-making upside
BJ Simmons brings a 6-foot-3 guard frame, proven scoring touch, and a playmaking profile that can help a team right away. In the 2025-26 season, ESPN lists him at 7.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game with 37.0% shooting, while his earlier UTRGV/Clarendon College track record shows he can carry more offensive load when needed. The value here is his combo of size, poise, and experience; he looks like a guard who can organize an offense, hit open shots, and compete without needing the ball to dominate. If you want a dependable connector rather than a highlight-only gamble, he’s a sensible fit.
