Danny Lazaro brings left-handed swing-and-miss bite to Virginia Tech’s 2026 staff
Danny Lazaro is a left-handed Virginia Tech pitcher who entered 2026 after a strong 2025 at St. Johns River State College, where he posted a 4.44 ERA with 78 strikeouts in 71 innings across 15 starts. He’s a compact 5-10 arm with real bat-missing ability, and he already showed he can contribute in meaningful spots at the D-I level, including the final out of Virginia Tech’s combined no-hitter against Radford in 2026. He looks like a useful fit for teams that value deception, strike throwing, and competitive toughness.
