6-foot-5 Irish center with a high-upside defensive motor
Gandy Malou-Mamel is a developing UConn center whose appeal is her size, rebounding, and shot-blocking upside: she was ESPN’s No. 75 recruit in the Class of 2025, averaged 17.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks as a senior at Gill St. Bernard’s, and produced 10.6 points and 10.0 rebounds for Ireland at the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket Division B. She has played only sparingly so far at UConn, but coaches and evaluators see a raw, relentless interior presence with room to grow into a real frontcourt piece.
