Mercer’s Michael Strickland brings strike-throwing upside and starter traits
Michael Strickland is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound right-hander at Mercer who arrived with a polished high-school track record and a starter’s profile. In the 2025 season, he posted a 2.02 ERA with 88 strikeouts in 65.2 innings as a senior at Coffee County HS, and Mercer’s staff said his ability to pitch ahead and throw strikes early in counts is a major separator. He was also described as projectable with front-line weekend-starter upside, making him a strong fit for teams that value command, competitiveness, and long-term development.
