Youngstown State freshman RHP Aidan Haynes brings a sturdy frame and high-upside strike-throwing resume
Aidan Haynes enters Youngstown State in the 2026 season as a 6'1", 190-pound right-handed pitcher with a reputation for missing bats and limiting free passes; in his 2023 high school season at North Tonawanda, he posted a 3.07 ERA with 26 strikeouts and 7 walks in 13.2 innings, and in summer 2023 he logged a 1.27 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 52 strikeouts, and 7 walks over 45.2 innings. He has not seen game action yet for YSU, so the bet here is projection: a compact, durable-looking arm with command polish and enough competitiveness to profile as a useful innings-eater if the strike throwing carries over.
