Carlos Paez brings veteran point-guard steadiness to Southeastern Louisiana
Paez was a proven floor general for Southeastern Louisiana in the 2024-25 season, averaging 5.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and shooting 44.2% from the field and 89.7% at the line in 31 games.[4][7][13] His calling card is control: he’s a senior guard with a history as a four-year starter at Austin Peay, has topped 1,000 career Division I points, and is known for efficient shooting, strong decision-making and steady leadership rather than flashy volume.[9][15] He looks like a good fit for a team that wants a composed, experienced guard who won’t beat himself.
