Jacob Gholston brings big-frame upside and swing-and-miss potential to Charlotte’s rotation
Jacob Gholston is a 6-foot-6 right-hander with the kind of size-and-stuff profile that gets scouts leaning forward: at Texas, he flashed a fastball up to 93–94 mph and a sharp slider that missed bats, and MLB scouting noted more velocity could come as he matured. In 2026, he was assigned to Charlotte after being drafted by Milwaukee in 2023, so the appeal is still upside, not a long pro track record. If you want a high-ceiling arm with power, plane, and bat-missing traits, he’s worth the attention.
