Tyjon Jones brings veteran ball-hawk instincts to UAB’s secondary
Tyjon Jones entered UAB as a proven transfer with real production behind him: in the 2023 season at Youngstown State, he posted 42 tackles, five passes defended, and two interceptions, and UAB’s 2024 notes listed him with 98 career tackles, eight passes defended, and three interceptions overall. His best calling card is range and timing as a safety—he has shown he can read quarterbacks, make timely picks, and fit as an experienced, physical defender in the back end. If a team wants a steady, seasoned safety with playmaking upside, Jones looks like a smart fit.
