Brycen Smith brings JUCO-tested relief depth to the Privateers
Brycen Smith looks like a useful bullpen piece for New Orleans in the 2026 season: the junior right-hander logged seven appearances, allowed four earned runs in 5.2 innings, and struck out five, with his longest outing reaching 2.0 innings against UIW on March 14, 2026[1]. The bigger selling point is the résumé behind the numbers—he came in with a strong junior-college track record, including four wins and two saves at Jones College and a 2025 All-JUCO World Series Team nod, which suggests a pitcher who can handle pressure and give a staff needed flexibility[7].
