Maddy McDermott brings workhorse innings and developing command in the circle for UNI
McDermott has been a steady rotation piece for Northern Iowa, making 11 starts and logging 31 innings in 2026, but her profile is still more about upside than finished product after a 9.94 ERA and 11 strikeouts.[1] The appealing part is the frame and recruiting pedigree: a 5'10" right-handed pitcher with college-ready athleticism, she gives UNI a durable arm who can handle meaningful volume while she sharpens consistency and run prevention.[6][8] If your team wants size, athleticism, and a pitcher with room to grow, she’s a worthwhile fit.
