Nasi Simmons is Columbia’s defensive spark plug with a nose for game-changing plays
In the 2025-26 season, Simmons emerged as a high-impact Columbia guard, highlighted by a program-record 10 steals against Yale and a USBWA National Player of the Week nod. She’s a disruptive, high-motor defender who can flip momentum fast, and her 10-point, 10-steal line showed she can influence a game even when the shot isn’t falling. For a team needing pressure defense, toughness, and a fearless energy piece, she looks like a very real fit.
