Carson Cabbage brings glove-first value and real backup-catcher juice for USF
In the 2026 season, South Florida’s Carson Cabbage served as the Bulls’ primary backup catcher, logged four starts, went 1-for-14 with a homer and three runs scored, and threw out all four attempted base stealers while posting a perfect fielding percentage[1][5]. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-handed hitter is a steady defensive option with enough arm strength to control the running game, and his hit in the April 11, 2026 win over UTSA showed he can flash some pop when needed[1][4].
