Caileigh Mahovetz brings freshman catching depth and steady glove work to Towson
In the 2026 season, Caileigh Mahovetz has been a rookie catcher for Towson who has already logged defensive innings and earned multiple starts, showing the kind of game-management value coaches love in a young backstop[2][6][7]. She also picked up her first hit and RBI in late April, a small but useful sign that she can contribute beyond the glove as she settles in[7]. Towson’s roster lists her as a freshman catcher from Bridgewater-Raritan and notes she was a four-year starter and two-year team captain in high school, which points to leadership and toughness[1].
