Yazzy Avila is a high-contact, high-energy utility bat giving Arizona State instant offense
In 2026, Yazzy Avila has shown she can change a game with both contact and pop, including multi-hit, multi-run impact in Arizona State’s win at UTEP and steady at-bats that fit a versatile, top-to-bottom lineup role.[5][11][12][16] Her differentiators are speed, bat-to-ball skill, and the ability to play across spots, while her track record also shows resilience after a season-ending injury in 2024 and a strong rebound in 2025 at Illinois, where she hit .305 with a .467 OBP and 10 stolen bases.[1][3][16] She looks like a fit for teams wanting an aggressive, adaptable utility player who brings energy, on-base ability, and enough extra-base threat to punish mistakes.[1][5]
