ECU’s 6-5 mismatch TE Ismael Smith Flores brings FCS production and upside
In the 2025 season at UTRGV, Ismael Smith Flores posted 20 catches for 244 yards and 6 touchdowns, and ECU had him pegged as its projected starting tight end entering 2026. At 6-5, 255, he offers red-zone size, after-catch sturdiness, and a versatile backstory: he’s a former Nebraska linebacker who settled in at tight end and earned preseason recognition from Pro Football Network. The fit is intriguing if a team wants a physical, high-upside TE with a real scoring knack and room to keep climbing.
