Trey Hedden gives New Mexico State a battle-tested QB with live-arm upside
In the 2026 season, Trey Hedden has opened as New Mexico State’s starter and already shown he can handle a high-volume workload: through three games he has 781 passing yards, 5 passing touchdowns, and 3 interceptions, including a 26-completion, 272-yard debut against Florida State and a 253-yard, 2-TD outing vs. Mercyhurst. He brings experience, confidence, and durability from a full 2025 run at Furman, where he threw for 2,967 yards with 17 touchdowns, and he looks like a fit for a team needing a poised distributor who can push the ball downfield—though the interception total says the wow-factor comes with a little chaos, and that’s the QB snack-sized wrinkle.
