Madiba Owona has emerged as a versatile two-way guard for Utah Tech, but an injury cut into his sophomore season
In the 2025-26 season, Madiba Owona was giving Utah Tech steady scoring and all-around guard production at 9.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game, while starting 8 of his 15 appearances before an injury ended his season on New Year’s Day at Abilene.[1][2][4] He was also an WAC All-Freshman Team selection in 2024-25, which points to real upside beyond the box score.[1] At 6-foot-4, the France-born guard brings size, activity on defense, and enough shot creation to fit as a modern, multi-purpose backcourt piece if he returns healthy.[2][4]
