6-foot-3 FGCU catcher still waiting for his college debut
Jonathan Maassen is a big-bodied, switch-hitting catcher profile for Florida Gulf Coast, listed at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, but he redshirted the 2026 season and did not appear in a game[1][2]. The appeal is obvious: physical upside, catcher size, and a collegiate frame that can add strength, though there’s no current college stat line yet to judge production. He was a 2025 commit from Parrish Community High and had prior showcase notes showing arm strength and two-way flashes, so the tools are there if the bat catches up[5][6][15].
