Michael Pfeiffer brings veteran innings and swing-and-miss upside to EMU’s rotation
In the 2026 season, Eastern Michigan senior RHP Michael Pfeiffer evolved from bullpen arm to starter, logging 38.0 innings across nine starts and giving the Eagles a durable veteran option on the mound. He flashed real bat-missing ability with 36 strikeouts in 35.2 innings through mid-February reports and showed a ceiling outing with six innings, one run, and his first win of the season against SIUE. The drawback: his command and run prevention have been inconsistent, so he looks best as a hard-nosed depth starter who can survive innings and compete, not a polished ace.
