Ryen Perry brings low-usage, defensive-minded depth to San Jose State’s backcourt
Perry is a bench guard whose value comes more from reliability and effort than volume scoring: in the 2023-24 season he made eight appearances, averaged 1.3 points, and chipped in rebounds, assists, and a steal in limited minutes, while his earlier minutes at Air Force showed he can stay ready and impact a game when called on. He looks like a fit for a team that needs a tough, team-first guard who can defend, handle spot minutes, and keep possessions stable rather than carry an offense.
