Abby Cruz is the Broncs’ steady bat-and-glove catalyst at catcher
In the 2026 season, Abby Cruz emerged as one of Rider’s most reliable everyday threats, hitting .327 with 10 doubles, 4 home runs, and a team-leading 100th career hit milestone along the way. She pairs impact offense with real defensive value behind the plate, and Rider’s roster notes credit her with a Gold Glove award in high school plus a strong feel for the game. The fit is clear: she brings toughness, consistency, and two-way value—exactly the kind of catcher who can settle a lineup and control a defense.
